Fall Picture Day 2009

Yesterday was Fall picture day at school, and Harmony looked so cute! She is so photogenic, and loves to smile for the camera. When we got the notice that pictures were coming up, I took her out shopping for an outfit especially for picture day. 

I normally always pick out the outfit that she will be wearing, but this year I decided to let her choose whatever she wanted. She is really starting to get her own sense of style, and I wanted that to come through in her 1st grade pictures. 

She chose this cute purple and cream 3/4 sleeve flannel button up shirt w/collar, and cream leggings w/lace trim. Then she chose her brown sandals, and had me paint both her fingers and toes brown. She picked her purple headband, and I decided it would be cute to french braid her hair. Aside from the headband she only accessorized with her sterling silver heart ring, and her sterling silver stud earrings.

She loved the shirt because she said it reminded her of Miley's shirt in the "Hannah Montana" movie. She looked stylish, yet simple. Totally Harmony!

Pearly Whites: Take 2

Yesterday Harmony and I were working on our paper pumpkin crafts at the dining table. She looked at me and said, "Oh no Mommy my other tooth is very very loose." I took a feel and, of course, it was ready to be pulled.

We noticed it got loose right after the first tooth fell out. So, again we were just playing the waiting game. Now officially her first two little baby teeth are gone. It makes me so sad, and happy at the same time. I am sad that time passes way to quickly, sad that she isn't a baby anymore, and sad that there is nothing I can do to keep her from growing up. I am happy that she is growing up so beautifully, happy she is reaching new milestones, and happy to be here to witness it all. What a blessing!!!

Our finished paper pumpkin. All you need is a empty toilet paper roll, orange construction paper, tape, green and brown felt cut into leaves and a stem (only 25 cents a square for felt at Hobby Lobby), and green pipe cleaners for the vine.

Leaving for church this morning, and Mommy is loving this SMILE!!!

A Much Needed Rainy Saturday

I am sitting at home today taking a much needed break. It was such a long week this week. I was at the school 4 out of 5 days, which, it is pretty much my second home anyways. There is so much going on with coupon book sales, upcoming PTSO Fall Festival, we are into our 3rd week of Grandparents Days, and the Flu Mist was yesterday. I am exhausted!

Tony and Harmony are gone today on what is commonly referred to in our household as a "Triple D"! That is the phrase Tony came up with for a "dad daughter day" or a "dad daughter date"! They went out shopping so she could spend her allowance for the week, and to celebrate Geoffrey's (Toys R' Us Giraffe) birthday party at the toy store! They have went to that celebration for about 3 years in a row. They have arts and crafts, cupcakes, and a little parade. They always have a great time! Plus, I get to have a little bit of me time while they are gone.

This evening we have a funeral to go to. A close friend of the family passed away from Cancer on Thursday. It seems that so many people I know and have known have suffered from Cancer. My grandmother being one of them. She passed away when I was 12, but it still seems just like yesterday. I am praying that the family will find peace in this situation, and that God will heal the hurt that comes along with death.

Pearly Whites

Yesterday Harmony lost her very 1st tooth! It has been loose since the Summer, and finally made it's way out yesterday during homework time! She was so excited! She couldn't wait for the Tooth Fairy to visit, and to get to write her name on the tooth chart in her classroom today! She looks so sweet with one of her little bottom teeth missing!

It makes me think of the day that little tooth came in. Her first tooth to come in is the first one out. On July 26, 2003 we were playing in the floor, and she grabbed my hand. She then proceeded to bite my finger ... "OUCH!" I looked and there was her pretty little tooth poking through right on the bottom.

It makes me sad to think about how quickly she is growing up! She looks so big to me right now, but I know someday this too will seem so very small!!!

Spend as much time as you can with your kids. Play with them, hug them, cuddle them, watch some cartoons, find common interests, be as involved as you can be. They will be grown and gone quicker than you can ever imagine!

Here's to another milestone in my sweet baby's life!!!

Love to Blog

Okay, so I love to blog. I blog on MySpace as much as I can, which, lately hasn't been to often. However, I have friends who do not have MySpace or Facebook accounts so I wanted to have something that anyone could have access to. 


I am hoping that with an actual place devoted solely to blogging that I will do a much better job at keeping up with it. Although I have tried other similar websites in the past, and ended up doing less and less with them until I was completely disinterested.
